Terminando piezas. Finishing.

Me suelo tomar mi tiempo para acabar las piezas, es la ventaja de ser la artesana y la clienta. Tengo una caja llena de piezas a medio montar esperando su turno. Aquí os muestro un par de piezas hechas con láminas de craquelado de este curso. Espero que os gusten.

I use to take my time to finishing my pieces, the advantage  to be the artist and the client. I have a box full of pieces waiting for turn. These are focal beads that I´ve made with crackled sheets of this workshop. Enjoy.

me gustaría hacer una entrada también del segundo curso que impartió Jana Roberts Benzon en el puente de mayo en Madrid. Tuvimos el privilegio de compartir una tercera jornada con una gran artista y gran persona que nos enseñó técnicas, montajes, diseño y mucho más. Gracias a APE por hacerlo posible.

I would like to post something about the second workshop we could attend at Madrid 3th of may. We had the privilege to share a new journey with Jana Roberts Benzon, a great artist as person, who teached to us tecnics, combining, design and much more. Thanks to APE for doing possible.

Y estas son mis piezas, un colgante y un broche.

And these are the pieces I made, a pendant and a broach.

Modificando piezas. Altered focal bead.

Pues hay piezas que das por terminadas pero no terminan de convencerte. Y cuanto más las miras, menos te convencen, así que vuelven a la mesa del taller esperando inspiración.

Sometimes, you finish a piece that doesn´t fit with you. As more you look at it less fits, so it is time to back work table and wait for inspiration.

He carvado y añadido más detalles azul y ocre. La diferencia es sutil, pero la pieza gana muchísimo.
Carving and adding more blue an ochre. Just a little but the difference is amazing.

Aquí he optado por degradados de restos, antiguas murrinas y un sello para un tamaño mayor.

Here I´ve used scrap blends, old cane and stamp for a bigger size.

Corazón craquelado. Crackled heart.

aquí dejo un corazón que ya he regalado, así que no tengo muchas fotos. 

Trasera texturizada con un sello y la delantera con técnica de craquelado. Montaje hueco en un paso y acabado brillante con lijado al agua y pulido. Espero que os guste.

for today a heart which I´ve given, so there are only two pictures.

The back has been textured with a stamp and the front was made with crackle tecnique. Hollow pendant assembled in one step and finishing with sanding and polishing. I hope you like it.

Un colgante XL. Big pendant

Hoy un colgante que tardó en encontrar su montaje final. Estoy muy contenta porque la espera mereció la pena. Craquelado, uso de alambre, equilibro en el diseño y montaje final, supusieron un reto y muchas horas de pensar y pensar.

Today, a pendant which I took my time to finish. I´m very happy because waiting worth it. Crackle, wire, design and how to wear, a real challenge for me and a lot of time thinking.

La primera hoja que hice era un poco grande, así que la reciclé a broche. ¿Te gusta? A mí, sí.

The first leaf was too big, so it was recicled into brooch. Do you like it? I do.

Adorno navideño. Xmas ornament.

os traigo una nueva pieza hecha con las cuentas serpentina que hicimos aquí.

Good afternoon, 
here a new piece I´ve made with serpentine beads which we´ve made here.

En este caso, se trata de un nuevo adorno para el año, pero reciclable como colgantes, adornos para puertas o lo que se te ocurra. Lo que haremos primero es la trasera texturizada con una lámina negra y cortamos círculos a la medida final de la pieza.

Now it´s another Xmas ornament, but you can use it as focal bead, as pendant, door hanger or whatever you can imagine. 
First of all, we have to make the back with a black texture sheet and cut a circle at desired size.

 Las texturas son caseras y tengo negativo y positivo como podéis ver en las fotos. En este caso usaré el de la izquierda, con las estrellas hundidas.

Handmade textures for this project, positive an negative as you can observe. We´re going to use the left one, with deep stars.

Si usáramos el que tiene las estrellas en relieve, al pintar y lijar, tendríamos que la pintura se acumularía alrededor de las estrellas y el efecto contrario es mucho más interesante.

If we used the texture with the stars in relief, after painting and sanding, the colour will be around the stars and the opposite effect is much more interesting.

Después de recortar la medida, usamos una semiesfera y colocamos el disco lo más centrado posible con el dibujo sobre el metal.

Put the rounded sheet on the semiesfere so centered as we could with the relief on the metal.

 Añadimos un poquito de arcilla líquida y colocamos las cuentas según el diseño elegido. Podemos hacer pruebas antes para ver cómo nos gustaría colocar las piezas, buscando equilibro de formas, colores y tamaños.

Put an small amount of liquid clay to attach the beads as the preselected design. It´s a good idea to try first to figure how to put the pieces finding balance between sizes, colors and shapes.

Una vez que está cocidas, usaremos pintura acrílica para colorear la textura del interior. Cuando esté seca pasamos lija suavemente hasta que nos guste el efecto. 

Once our piece is cooked and cold, put a little amount of acrilic paint, let it dry and sand it just a little.

El de la derecha lo he montado como un colgante.

The right one is a pendant with an interesting solution.
